Hot Dog Price Index — NFL & MLS
Only stadiums with a cited hot dog price appear here. NFL and MLS are ranked separately — the two leagues are never averaged together — and figures are grouped by the season they belong to. Read the methodology.

Why hot dog prices cluster so tightly
Strip out the two extremes and the NFL hot dog market is remarkably uniform. The field clusters in a narrow band: the cheapest rows are value-menu franks sold at a fixed price all season, and the dearest are ballpark dogs priced for a premium seat rather than a general-admission stand. Between those ends, a stadium charging materially more than its neighbours is unusual — which is why a single dollar moves a venue several places.
The commercial logic is straightforward. A hot dog is the item a family buys first and remembers longest, so several buildings price it as a loss leader and take the margin on beer, parking and seats. That keeps the food number low and makes this index a poor proxy for what a visit costs overall — the hot dog plus beer basket is the better single measure.
How to read the season on each row
Every row is tagged with the season its source belongs to, not the year we read it. A value-menu release published in August 2026 carries 2026; a compiled index describing the 2025 season carries 2025 even when we read it this year. Rows are grouped by season rather than blended into one average, because averaging a 2025 price with a 2026 price produces a figure no stadium ever charged. Where a venue publishes a newer board, the newer figure replaces the older one.
Figures come from official venue value menus, team announcements and named compiled indexes, and they do not all measure the same thing. Each row carries the figure’s own label — value menus, select-location pricing and prior-season figures say so — and links to its source. Rows that are combo meals or derived from a multi-item basket are listed on their venue page but excluded here, so only directly comparable single-item prices compete. Averages show the number of venues and the season range behind them; any diff on a venue page can be recomputed from these rows.
